On August 14 the fire was reported to be 125 acres, growing to 940 acres by the following week. The fire made a run to the west and southeast due to gusty winds during the last few days to reach its current size.There is concern for the Rush Creek Lookout and Monumental Ranch if the fire makes another run. Currently torching single trees, the fire is smoldering and creeping through grass and the forest understory. The fire is being managed for resource benefit with no personnel assigned on the ground. Periodic over flights are being conducted and the fire is being closely monitored. The Cabin Creek and Rush Creek wilderness fires have not grown.
