With similar weather conditions anticipated for the next, few days, fire behavior is expected to largely remain as creeping, smoldering surface and ground fire. In areas with concentrations of downed, dead fuels, occasional short-range spotting and isolated torching is likely. The winds influencing fire behavior are mainly terrain-driven, upslope/up valley winds during the day and down-slope/down valley in the evening hours. With the ongoing hot, dry weather conditions, the live fuels (e.g. brush) that previously served as a barrier to fire's spread, are now fully cured and capable of carrying fire.

The Type II Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team Bravo (Blume) will transition with the Great Basin Type II Team (Lund) on Wednesday, August 20th. The Yolla Bolly Complex will be consolodated into the Lime Complex for future management under the Lund Team later in the week. |
