Cause of fire: Lightning

Activity Today: The fire was considered contained yesterday. The crews worked on the 300' mop up objective within the fire line perimeter. Gridding for spots continued with none found. As of 1700 (5.00PM) today, the fire was considered "controlled".

Action Planned: Crews will continue mopping up with the assistance of existing water resources. Any unburned fingers will require 100% mop up. Assessment of personnel needs will be made, with reductions in crew numbers possible.

Expected Weather: Temperature: 96 degrees-Mostly sunny with higher temperatures expected through the week.

Wind speed: 7-10 mph SW

Humidity: 20%

Remarks: It's been projected that the Type-III team will turn the fire back over to the West St. Joe Fire District by the end of shift on Friday 8/15/08. The efforts of all fire personnel and the cooperation of local concerns and city officials is greatly appreciated. The command post and fire camp is in St. Maries Idaho.
