The Burnside Fire is burning on in Alpine County, California, south of CA State Route 88/89 in the Hope Valley Area.Evacuations were lifted on 9/1 at 10am for Sorenson's Resort, Hope Valley Resort, Crystal Springs Campground, Kit Carson Campground, Hope Valley Campground, and approximately 20 residences on Douglas Way. Any future evacuations will be coordinated by the Alpine County Sheriff's Office.There are no highway closures at this time. The Forest Service Roads to Burnside Lake and Pickett's Peak are closed. The Forest Service Road to Blue Lakes remains open at this time.
A Type III overhead management team took over management of the fire on 9/1.
