(Cottonwood Ranch, NV) - Rehabilitation efforts continued yesterday on containment lines and will also be a focal point for today's operations. Specifically, crews will be working on the 283 road near Jarbidge and along the 74 road in the vicinity of Canyon Creek, southeast of Pole Creek Guard Station. Please use extreme caution if traveling in these areas. Fire personnel will continue aerial patrol of the southern perimeter.
Smoke columns will remain visible but all fire activity is within the fire perimeter and in the wilderness boundary.
Hunters and people traveling in the vicinity of the fire area are encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling roads adjacent to the fire, especially along the Pole Creek and Canyon Pockets Roads and 283 road.
A closure order remains in effect for the area surrounding the fire. No roads are affected by the closure. Please contact a local Forest Service Offices and on the Web at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/htnf. The closure is in place to provide for both public and firefighter safety and when the danger has passed.
